The season

Which months I can do what

I'm one person, so jobs run in the order the texts came in. The banner at the top of every page says how far out that is today.

  • Spring list opens

I take sealing bookings as the snow goes, in the order texts arrive.

    Mar to Apr

  • Sealing the outside

Needs bare ground, dry siding and a ladder that isn't on ice.

    May to Oct

  • Ants and carpenter ants

They wake with the first warm weeks and stay busy while it's warm.

    May to Aug

  • Wasp and yellowjacket nests

Small in early summer, large by late August. Text early.

    Jun to Sep

  • Mice moving in

They look for warm walls as the nights cool and the first snow falls.

    Sep to Nov

  • Indoor traps and checks

Traps in the attic, garage and under the sink, checked on a schedule.

    Oct to Apr

Why it's short

What the calendar allows

  • Outside work

Sealing, nest removal and ant treatment need bare ground and dry walls. That's about five months.

  • Inside work

Traps, checks and attic sealing carry on through the winter.

  • The spring rush

Everyone who heard mice all winter calls when the snow goes. The list fills fast.

About the wait

Why is there a wait?

It's me and one truck, and the work that can only happen outside has about five months to get done. I answer every text in the order it arrives and I don't promise a day I can't keep.

What should I text?

A photo of the spot, your town and what you heard or saw. I read texts Monday to Saturday until 8 p.m. and write back with what it looks like and what to do until I can come.

Where do you go, and when can you come?

Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, Girdwood and the roads between, plus Palmer and Wasilla. The banner at the top of every page says how far out the list runs today.
