Questions
Plain answers
How much does it cost?
I don't post prices, because they depend on the house: how many gaps, how high they are and how hard they are to reach. I write the number after I've seen the place and before any work starts, and you can say no.
How often do I need a visit?
For mice, usually a sealing visit and one or two checks. For ants and wasps, often one visit. I tell you what I'd do and why before you book anything more.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
I can't promise any pest product carries no risk. I follow the label, tell you where and when to keep children and pets away, and for mice I lean on sealing and traps in closed boxes. Ask me for the product list and I'll send it.
How long until the noise stops?
For most homes, within a couple of weeks of sealing and trapping, though it varies with how many mice got in and how long they've been there. I check the traps on a set schedule and tell you what I find.
Do I need to be home?
For the first visit, yes or someone you trust, so I can walk the house with you. For checks and outside work, a gate code or a key left with a neighbor is fine.
What if they come back?
If mice get in through a spot I sealed, I come back and fix it at no charge for 60 days after the visit. It doesn't cover new gaps, work someone else did after me, or damage from a later renovation.
Is there a contract?
No. Each job is a written quote for that job. If you want a check in the fall each year, I'll put you on the list for one.
Do you do termite or wood inspections?
No. I treat carpenter ants, which is a different job, and I'll tell you if what I find looks like something I don't handle.
Where do you go, and when can you come?
Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, Girdwood and the roads between, plus Palmer and Wasilla. The banner at the top of every page says how far out the list runs today.
Why is there a wait?
It's me and one truck, and the work that can only happen outside has about five months to get done. I answer every text in the order it arrives and I don't promise a day I can't keep.
What about rats?
Rats are uncommon here. If you think you have one, text me a photo before anything else, and I'll say whether it's a job I take.
What should I text?
A photo of the spot, your town and what you heard or saw. I read texts Monday to Saturday until 8 p.m. and write back with what it looks like and what to do until I can come.
Still have one?
Text it. I read every message myself.
