Ants and wasps

The warm-weather list

Both are active only while it's warm, so both are booked in the same few months.

  • Carpenter ants and nuisance ants

I look for where they come in, where the colony is and whether damp wood is feeding it, then treat where it will work.

    • Active from May to August

    • Moisture and wood checked first

    • A follow-up check if it's needed

  • Wasps and yellowjackets

I locate the nest, photograph it and remove it after dusk, then close the way in.

    • Nests grow through July and August

    • Reached from the ground or a ladder

    • Nests inside walls: I tell you what I'd need to open

Before I come

What to do until then

A few small things help while you wait.

  • Keep children and pets away from the nest area

  • Don't spray or knock down a nest

  • Text a photo from a distance, not up close

  • Note where you saw them going in

Ants and wasps questions

How often do I need a visit?

For mice, usually a sealing visit and one or two checks. For ants and wasps, often one visit. I tell you what I'd do and why before you book anything more.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

I can't promise any pest product carries no risk. I follow the label, tell you where and when to keep children and pets away, and for mice I lean on sealing and traps in closed boxes. Ask me for the product list and I'll send it.

What if they come back?

If mice get in through a spot I sealed, I come back and fix it at no charge for 60 days after the visit. It doesn't cover new gaps, work someone else did after me, or damage from a later renovation.

Do I need to be home?

For the first visit, yes or someone you trust, so I can walk the house with you. For checks and outside work, a gate code or a key left with a neighbor is fine.

Seeing more of them each week?

Text a photo and tell me where, and I'll tell you where you are on the list.
